Read more about the ALLIANCE response to the report on the impact of COVID-19 on the health and social care sector in Scotland.

In response to the report published yesterday on the impact of COVID-19 on the health and social care sector in Scotland, the Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (the ALLIANCE).

Sara Redmond, Chief Officer, Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (the ALLIANCE) said:

“The COVID-19 pandemic had a stark impact on health and social care, which is laid bare by today’s publication. In our evidence to the Inquiry, the ALLIANCE told the stories of some of the invisible and overlooked voices of the pandemic. These included people facing barriers to services because of inaccessible communication, breaches of rights in maternity and pregnancy services, and people’s social care packages being suddenly changed or removed without consultation. We welcome the publication of the Narrative Record today and look forward to continuing to contribute to the Inquiry’s work to make sure lessons are learned and people do not face these experiences again.”

The ALLIANCE is the national third sector membership organisation for the health and social care sector, representing 3,500 members.
