Chair of the Adult Disability Payment Review, Edel Harris OBE, has opened a consultation and call for evidence.
Chair of the Adult Disability Payment (ADP) Review, Edel Harris OBE, wants to hear from you about your experiences of Adult Disability Payment.
The Adult Disability Payment Independent Review will consider people’s experiences of the first year of delivery of Adult Disability Payment, as well as the eligibility criteria, and how well it has worked. This builds upon the analysis of the consultation on the eligibility criteria for the mobility component of Adult Disability Payment, published in August 2023.
There are two ways to get involved:
- Call for Evidence – this is aimed mainly at organisations, or any other interested party, who would like to provide feedback to inform the Chair’s review recommendations.
- Consultation – this is for people with lived and living experience of accessing or trying to access Adult Disability Payment. The Chair wants to hear directly from disabled people, terminally ill people, and people living with long term mental and physical health conditions. This also include people, organisations and unpaid carers who support people accessing or trying to access ADP.
You can give feedback on areas such as:
- Take-up
- Eligibility checks
- Pre-application support
- Fluctuating conditions
- Decision making
- Re-determinations and reviews
Easy Read, BSL and other translations of the consultation and call for evidence documents will also available.
Consultation events will also take place both online and in-person. You can sign up to attend the events.
If you would like to receive news and updates on the Independent Review you can sign up to their newsletter by emailing adpreview@gov.scot with your name and email address.
