1 Song Sing Along

Join the ALLIANCE team every Friday at 3pm starting - 3 April 2020 for sing song.
As a son caring for my mum Joan I would often sing to my mum, songs that my dad, as so many used to do at parties when growing up in Glasgow and was a big thing at house parties in my childhood, those songs that meant so much. This always brought a smile to my mums eyes. No matter how many people in the room, my dad a brilliant singer, whilst taking his turn singing to the room, was always singing to mum, a joy to witness such love.
Director, Irene Oldfather told us:
“My mum was a lovely singer. She was always humming and singing in the house, as she cooked dinner, did the washing and hoovered. Many people will have thoughts of what singing means to them.
Tommy’s singalong will resonate with people across Scotland who recall the role that singing has always played in weddings, Hogmanay and parties in Scotland. As a nation coming together to remind ourselves that we are always stronger and better together will I have no doubt feature largely in future days.
Thank you Tommy for continuing to motivate and inspire us”
As part of our Make a Difference tour across the country over the last 5 years, every talk has ended with a group sing along, to bring people together and celebrate great care and people.
As we are asked and rightly so, to stay at home during this time to allow key workers to care for us and keep care and supplies moving, our group sing alongs will have to be found indifferent ways
So with my ALLIANCE team mates we are launching 1 Song Sing Along on zoom every Friday at 3pm.
We hope you can join us for the first group sing along on Friday 3 April 2020 and each week thereafter to celebrate the kindness of people and spread some positivity in these different times.
