Social Care and the Scottish Human Rights Bill Consultation event report

The ALLIANCE have published an event summary report on social care and the Scottish Human Rights Bill consultation.
On Thursday 31st August, the ALLIANCE held an online event focusing on the Scottish Human Rights Bill Consultation and how it might impact social care in Scotland. The event aimed to provide an overview for participants on the content of the Bill, discuss why the Bill matters, and learn more about what it might mean for social care. It also aimed to provide some guidance for participants who might want to respond to the Scottish Government’s consultation.
This event was organised in partnership with the Coalition of Care and Support Providers in Scotland (CCPS), Disability Equality Scotland, Scottish Care, and the National Carer Organisations (Carers Scotland, Carers Trust Scotland, Coalition of Carers in Scotland, MECOPP, Shared Care Scotland, and the Scottish Young Carers Service Alliance).
As part of the event, Lucy Miller, Senior Policy Officer at the Human Rights Consortium Scotland, provided a summary of the consultation, explaining some of the key details of the plan to incorporate. Lucy Mulvagh, Director of Policy, Research and Impact at the ALLIANCE, and Rob Gowans, Policy and Public Affairs Manager at the ALLIANCE, then talked more specifically about social care and the proposed Bill.
