Irene Oldfather shortlisted for the Scottish Public Service Leadership Award

Irene has been shortlisted for her exceptional leadership in ensuring Scottish interests in the post-Brexit UK-EU relationship.

We are delighted that director of Strategic Partnerships, External Affairs and Outreach at the ALLIANCE, Irene Oldfather, has been shortlisted for the Leadership Award in the 2023 Scottish Public Service Awards.

Irene has been shortlisted for exceptional leadership in ensuring Scottish interests are feeding into development of the post-Brexit UK-EU relationship. Recognising the need for Scottish interests and in particular of civil society to have a say in the post-Brexit landscape, Irene was successful in securing a submission to the Domestic Advisory Group on post-Brexit matters and has worked to establish the Scottish Advisory Forum on Europe (SAFE) to feed into the Trade and Cooperation Agreement. SAFE provides a network for meaningful engagement regarding Scotland’s relationships with Europe.

Mandy Rhodes, managing director of Holyrood Communications, said: “The Scottish Public Service Awards continue to go from strength to strength. Once again, this year’s nominees reflect some of the excellent work going on across all of our communities which doesn’t always receive the recognition it rightly deserves.

“This year’s list of nominees is one of our strongest yet. I look forward to celebrating all their achievements at the awards ceremony on 6 December.”

This year’s award ceremony which takes place in the Garden Lobby of the Scottish Parliament on Wednesday 6 December hosted by Deputy First Minister Shona Robison and Presiding Officer Rt Hon Alison Johnstone MSP.
