Health and care senior leaders are invited to shape and join a new leadership development programme.

A new leadership development opportunity for health and care senior leaders in remote, rural and island localities in Scotland.

Developed in partnership between the National Centre for Remote and Rural Health and Care (NCRRHC) and Leading to Change at NHS Education for Scotland (NES), the programme will commence in November 2025.

The initiative aims to strengthen leadership capability in areas facing complex challenges such as health inequalities, workforce shortages, geographic isolation, and recruitment and retention difficulties. The offer is open to senior leaders at Band 8 and above (or equivalent), with a separate programme for Band 7 and below in development.

Organisers are currently inviting stakeholders to take part in inquiry conversations during September to help shape the pilot offer.
