OnFife in partnership with Fife Health Social Care Partnership (Deaf Communications Service) invite you to celebrate BSL and Deaf Culture

Come along on Saturday the 21st of March to this family-friendly community event celebrating British Sign Language (BSL) and Deaf culture in Fife.

What’s on:

  • Community Marketplace 10am-4pm: Drop into the Clueen Margaret Room any time to explore the community marketplace. Meet local organisations and discover services available across Fife, including Police Scotland, Fife Centre for Equalities and more.
  • Solar Bear Films 10am-4pm: Enjoy a selection of films in the Canmore Room from Solar Bear celebrating Deaf stories and creativity.
  • Unearthed Exhibition 10am-4pm: Be part of the opening day of OnFife’s Unearthed exhibition. This is a family-friendly hands-on adventure back in time. Explore objects from history, try fossil digging, magnetic dinosaur mix-ups, dressing-up fun, free-play LEGO, and discover the stories of the past.
  • BSL Bookbug Launch 11.30am-12pm: Located in the Children’s Library, this is a fun, interactive and BSL interpreted session of stories, songs, and rhymes. Perfect for families and children aged 0-5 years. This is the first in a series and FREE to attend but booking essential. The general booking link will be available from 15th March, but Deaf families can sign up directly by emailing julia.dyke@onfife.com
  • Author Event with Gerry Hughes 1pm-2pm: Meet Gerry Hughes, Deaf solo circumnavigator and author of Bridging Our Differences. Located in the Adult Library, this FREE session includes a talk, Q&A, and book signing.
