Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland has launched its new Women’s Health Plan to improve health outcomes for women in Scotland.
Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland has launched its new Women’s Health Plan 2026–2029, setting out the charity’s commitment to improving the health outcomes for women in Scotland.
Chest, heart, stroke and Long Covid conditions are among the leading causes of death and disability for women in Scotland, yet women continue to face inequalities throughout their health journey – from symptoms being dismissed, misdiagnosed or under-treated to unequal access to treatment and rehabilitation.
Shaped by lived experience, evidence and expertise from across Scotland, the plan sets out seven aims to improve women-specific health information and awareness, strengthen prevention and early detection, enhance support following diagnosis, amplify women’s voices and campaign for wider change.
The plan aligns with the Scottish Government’s national Women’s Health Plan and reflects CHSS’s commitment to working with women, communities, healthcare professionals and partners to help close the gender health gap.
