A phased campaign supports earlier CKD recognition, helping healthcare professionals deliver timely care and improve patient outcomes.

The CKD Connect campaign led by the National Kidney Federation (NKF) has been developed to focus on improving awareness, recognition and management of chronic kidney disease (CKD). By helping healthcare professionals “think kidney” and act earlier, while ensuring people affected by CKD have access to clear information, trusted support and practical self-management guidance, the campaign aims to ensure nobody faces a CKD diagnosis alone, driving improved outcomes at every stage of the CKD journey.

The campaign will roll out in two phases. The first phase will deliver two webinars: one designed to build GP confidence in identifying and managing early-stage CKD, and another for the general public and newly diagnosed patients to focus on increasing awareness of the condition, improving understanding and signposting to trusted resources and support.

Building on these discussions, the second phase will bring together experts from across the healthcare landscape for a multi-stakeholder policy roundtable. Insights and recommendations from the roundtable, alongside wider stakeholder engagement, will inform the development of an evidence-based CKD Connect policy report to help shape future improvements in CKD care.
