The ALLIANCE Humans of Scotland, shares and showcases short stories about the everyday lives of the people we engage with.

“I have Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy, which is a progressive muscle wasting condition. I am a full-time power wheelchair user and need assistance with almost all aspects of my life. Despite the challenges, I try to be as active and healthy as possible.

There are many things that keep me healthy, happy and well which are all incredibly important especially due to my disability. Simple things like maintaining a healthy diet and drinking plenty of water to avoid infections are very important to me. Listening to my body and knowing when I need to rest allows me to pace myself and limit muscle fatigue. Things that make me happy are spending time with my family, going to live music events and travelling.”
