Build your confidence in funding applications with practical advice, funder insights and top tips for stronger applications

Join the ALLIANCE’s Children and Young People Community of Practice for a practical and interactive session designed to build your confidence, strengthen your applications and improve your chances of success facilitated by Impact Funding Partners.

This session will provide participants with an overview and lots of practical advice and is aimed at:

  • Participants with limited experience in applying for funding in the children and young people’s sector
  • Participants with some experience who want to increase their skills and confidence to submit strong applications.

It will cover:

  • Choosing the right funds – understanding how to assess whether a fund matches your organisation’s needs and avoid spending time on opportunities that are unlikely to succeed
  • How funding decisions are made
  • Insights and lessons from IFP’s most recent open funding rounds
  • Taking a structured approach to developing your funding application
  • What assessors are looking for when assessing the different elements of your funding application – and the common mistakes to avoid
  • Top tips when writing applications

The session will be participatory, with opportunities for discussion and reflection. You are encouraged to keep your camera on and take part in group activities throughout.

  • Understanding how to select the most appropriate funds to apply for
  • Understanding what grant assessors look for​ in applications and how funding decisions are made
  • Awareness of the most common mistakes that applicants make
  • Increased knowledge and confidence to submit strong funding applications​
