This online session is aiming to collect opinions on how social challenges impact on aging and gather ideas on how to make positive change.

Strathclyde University are leading research into how social challenges impact on how we age, and exploring how to understand and support positive action.

Graphic with the title "Research". There are also pictures of phones, notebook and paper.

The ALLIANCE in collaboration with CEMVO Scotland are supporting Strathclyde University to reach a national audience to explore:

1. How can we better understand healthy aging earlier in life?

2. How can we better understand how our/ peoples social challenges (money, housing, discrimination, employment, family support) impact on aging?

3. How can we support ourselves/ people to take positive action as they age, to manage their life circumstances and navigate life challenges?

This online engagement event is open to everyone and will run twice, 04 November 2026 and again in early 2027 (tbc).

As a digital team we are also considering what role digital could play in positively supporting aging. Or is digital exclusion a further social challenge for too many? This discussion is much wider and more complex than our digital interest, so please come along and share your experiences and views.

This online event will be supported by the ALLIANCE and delivered by Strathclyde University.
