We have submitted a parallel report to the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights for its examination of rights in the UK.

Thanks to contributions from our members and partners, the ALLIANCE report covers a range of issues related to economic, social and cultural rights.

Our report highlights broad issues of concern about incorporation, SNAP 2, human rights monitoring, and the devastating impact of budget cuts on disabled people, people with long term conditions, unpaid carers, and the third sector.

Our submission also focuses on social care, social security, the right to an adequate standard of living, mental health, COVID-19, women’s health, and the rights of people with learning disabilities.

This report is a follow-up to one we submitted in December 2023, which you can read here.

We suggest several questions that UN Committee members can ask both the UK and Scottish Governments at their meeting, which will take place in Geneva, Switzerland in February 2025.
