The 2025 edition of the annual State of Caring Survey is open until 10 August 2025.

Carers UK are looking to hear from unpaid carers across the UK, including Scotland, as part of their State of Caring Survey for 2025. Running until 10 August, the survey is the UK’s most comprehensive regular research into the lives and experiences of unpaid carers. It is used as a vital source of evidence not only by Carers UK, but by many other organisations including Government, local authorities, health and social care services, charities and carers groups.

Explaining the purpose of the Survey, Carers UK state that: “Carers UK is a membership organisation, and we cannot campaign for change without your help. With new proposals and policy changes being announced by the UK Government, it is more important than ever that you have your say.”

Previous findings from State of Caring surveys have been used by Carers UK to successfully push for changes including increasing the earnings limit for carer’s payments and improving employment rights for unpaid carers.
