Fill out a survey to share your experiences as a single parent in accessing higher education.

One Parent Families Scotland (OPFS) is conducting research, funded by The Robertson Trust, to identify barriers faced by single parents in, or accessing, higher education. Their goal is to develop actionable recommendations for institutions to improve support systems. 

The Survey 

Their online survey is for single parents in Scotland who are: 

  • Current higher education students. 
  • Former higher education students. 
  • Prospective higher education students. 

The survey explores key topics, including: 

  • Financial barriers, including interactions with UK and Scottish benefits systems. 
  • Access to childcare. 
  • Disabilities, health, and mental health of parents and their children. 
  • Confidence, information gaps, and other support needs.
