Next in our series of staff introductions series we hear from Development Officer Angela.

In 140 characters, what is your role at the ALLIANCE?

I run the Humans of Scotland storytelling project and the ALLIANCE’s Integration stories project.

Previous experience…

My main background is in journalism at the BBC where I was a Senior Broadcast Journalist leading on national and international news programmes.

Biggest learning experience in previous or current role?

My biggest learning experience was trusting the power of silence when interviewing people and not being afraid of it. Often if you give someone a bit of space, they open up about things. A crucial skill for a storyteller.

Twitter, Facebook or Instagram?

Instagram

In my spare time I like…

To read, write, spend time with family and friends…and run once in a blue moon.

When you were younger what did you want to be when you grew up?

A journalist.

If you were to trade places with someone for one day, who would it be?

Margaret Drabble, writer. To be able to capture the human experience in the way she can, even just for a day, would be a gift.

Planes, trains or automobiles?

Trains. The best way to travel and watch the world go by.

Stay tuned for more staff (re)introductions in the coming weeks.
