Help shape the future of ambulance vehicles and equipment

The Scottish Ambulance Service is inviting people with lived experience, patients, carers and community organisations to take part in an upcoming National Vehicle Design and Equipment Group (NVDEG) Engagement Day.

  • Tuesday 27 October 2026
  • 10am–4pm
  • Hall 2, Scottish Event Campus (SEC), Glasgow.

This is a hands-on opportunity to see around 12 ambulance and patient transport vehicles, explore equipment and defibrillator demonstrations, and speak directly with Scottish Ambulance Service staff, suppliers and colleagues involved in vehicle and equipment design.

We are particularly keen to hear from disabled people and people with lived experience, including views on accessibility, inclusion, communication, reasonable adjustments and how ambulance vehicles and equipment could better meet people’s needs.

The day will be informal and interactive, with plenty of opportunity to look around, ask questions and share your experiences.

If you or someone you work with would be interested in attending, please contact Chris Purnell, Engagement and Involvement Manager at the Scottish Ambulance Service, chris.purnell@nhs.scot, by 9 October 2026.

Please include your name and contact details, and let us know if you have any accessibility or support requirements.

We would really value your views and experiences in helping to shape the future design of ambulance vehicles and equipment across Scotland.
