The ALLIANCE is pleased to announce a beta test of an artificial intelligence co-pilot – ConnectingYouNow - on ALISS.

ConnectingYouNow is an exciting new system that aims to use artificial intelligence (AI) to enable more inclusive access to public services, starting with disabled people.  It has been developed in response to a CivTech challenge, set by the Scottish Government and NHS 24.

ConnectingYouNow harnesses the power of AI to enable users to communicate their needs through text or speech, interacting with an intuitive two-way conversational AI system. It has been designed and optimised for users with sight and hearing loss but is available to everybody.

How does ConnectingYouNow work?

It employs sophisticated technologies to analyse the data on ALISS and the content held on the websites of ALISS services, expertly indexing their rich and diverse content. This serves as the basis for the AI’s ability to identify the most appropriate conversational matches. Operating with speed and precision, the AI engine facilitates seamless discovery, delivering users exactly what they need, exactly when they need it.

Digital Assistant Director at the ALLIANCE, Chris Mackie said, “I am delighted to see this innovative approach to accessing services trialled on ALISS. Everyone is talking about AI at the moment, and we are very pleased to showcase a demonstration of this innovative approach and allow people to contribute to its development.”
