The ALISS team is delighted to announce the launch of ALISS Analytics, a new tool designed to provide easy access to valuable data on ALISS.

After months of development and testing, ALISS Analytics officially launched this week. Users can now explore:

  • Visitor and service data: insights into visitor numbers, services and organisations stats, and search trends.
  • Location insights: information on services and organisations in specific regions, top categories, and most-searched postcodes.
  • My Stats: insights into the number of views and saves, and other engagement data for users’ own services.

Developing ALISS Analytics

ALISS Analytics was developed in response to user requests for an accessible and user-friendly way to explore ALISS data. To ensure ALISS Analytics met user needs, a focus group was formed in the early stages of development. Their feedback helped shape ALISS Analytics into what it is today, highlighting key priorities, such as:

  • Being able to view a summary of the information on ALISS.
  • Track trends over time.
  • Download the data for further use.

1. A line chart of number of services, number of claimed services, and number of visitors.
2. A pie chart with five slices showing the number of services in Glasgow City, Aberdeen City, Moray, Renfrewshire, and Aberdeenshire.
3. Total number of services, organisations, claimed services, and accounts on ALISS during this specific period.

One major improvement to ALISS Analytics was removing the need for an ALISS account to access the data. Now, anyone with a link to ALISS Analytics can view the information freely.

Another key focus during development was accessibility. The ALISS team conducted several rounds of testing to ensure compatibility with screen readers and keyboard navigation, making ALISS Analytics as inclusive as possible.

What’s next?

The ALISS team is proud of this achievement and is excited to see how ALISS Analytics will continue to develop. Work on the next phase of ALISS Analytics has already begun. As such, the team is actively gathering feedback from users so they can continue to improve the tool. If you have any feedback, please contact the ALISS team at hello@aliss.org
