‘Our Voice, Our Rights, Our Future’ ALLIANCE Annual Conference Impact Visit series

The ALLIANCE’s membership of over 3500 individuals and organisations represents a diverse cross section of health and social care in Scotland. Many working from the third sector are delivering tremendous impact to the individuals and communities with whom they work for. As part of the ‘Our Voice, Our Rights, Our Future’ ALLIANCE Annual Conference 2024, we visited 4 such organisations to highlight that delivery towards the future change is going on all around us.

From Edinburgh to Stornoway, witness firsthand the transformative work being done by organisations like NKS and Affa Sair. Through interviews and on-site footage, delve into the challenges faced and the remarkable solutions implemented to foster change and improve lives. Join us as we explore the power of community, resilience, and innovation in shaping a brighter future for individuals and communities across Scotland.

ALLIANCE Live Podcast – The Right to Health Special

Following on from the publication of our report, “Investigating Knowledge and Understanding of the Right to Health” and to celebrate World Health Day, in this episode we explore what the right to health is and what it looks, and could look like, for people and practice across Scotland.

We know that everyone in Scotland has the fundamental right to “the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health” according to the World Health Organisation and under International Law. However, high levels of health inequalities continue to exist in Scotland compared with the rest of the UK and Europe.

We chat with experts including Dr Rebecca Mason from Young Women’s Movement Scotland, GP Fellow at the University of Glasgow and Deep End GP Dr Marianne McCallum, Dr Tony Robertson of the People’s Health Movement and the University of Stirling, and CEMVO’s Human Rights Officer Clare Gallagher.
