The proposed development would create 11 flats and 2 houses for people with learning disabilities in Edinburgh.
Tipereth is an existing Camphill community, founded in 1993, situated at the foot of the Pentland Hills with three residential care homes, a variety of day services and social enterprise projects.
It is proposed to expand the community to offer further supported living services to people with learning disabilities and autism.
In our letter, ALLIANCE Chief Executive Professor Ian Welsh OBE says: “Supported living is a key service in supporting people with learning disabilities and autism to achieve their right to independent living and enables thousands of people across the country to live independently in their own tenancies, resulting in positive outcomes for the individual and their family.
Such tenancies are at a premium both locally and nationally and we believe that Camphill Scotland’s proposal would support City of Edinburgh Council in meeting its commitments to supporting people to live independently.”
You can add your support to the proposal by writing to the Planning Department, City of Edinburgh Council, Waverley Court, 4 East Market Street, Edinburgh, EH8 8BG.
