ALISS wraps up the year with an improved user experience

The latest development work on ALISS focused on improving the homepage and search results, making the website easier to use on all devices.
Earlier this year, we invited users to share their experience of using ALISS in our annual survey. While most people rated their overall experience as good, some highlighted issues around the user interface of the website. They described it as “a bit clunky” and noted that the navigation on the homepage felt unintuitive. Others found the mobile version of the website too cluttered.
The latest developments focused on addressing these concerns. We have refreshed the ALISS homepage with a cleaner layout and less text, and have introduced a new drop-down menu in the toolbar with links to other pages on the website, such as Analytics and the Help Centre. We have also rolled out these updates on the mobile site, making it easier to navigate ALISS on both desktop and phone.

Another concern mentioned in the survey was the accuracy of search results. In response, we improved the keyword search by adding a “key phrase” filter. For example, searches like “stop smoking” are now matched as a phrase rather than as separate words. This change significantly reduces the number of irrelevant search results and helps users find what they need more quickly.
Improving user experience remains one of the key goals in our 2025-2028 strategy, and in the new year we will continue to respond to user feedback, enhance search, and ensure that ALISS is accessible to all.
