The ALLIANCE would like to hear our members' views on Public Service Reform, which is a key priority for the new Scottish Government.

The new Scottish Government have indicated that public service reform will be one of their key priorities over the next five years, and have appointed a Cabinet Secretary for Public Service Reform to pursue this agenda. At the end of the previous term of parliament, they also published a “Health and Social Care Service Renewal Framework” and a “Public Service Reform Framework“, which set out aspirations towards sustainable and preventative systems.

How Public Service Reform is developed and implemented will have significant implications health and social care services in Scotland. The ALLIANCE will be engaging closely with developments, and would welcome input from our members at an event on 4 August 2026 from 2pm to 3.30pm. This session is intended to give ALLIANCE members the opportunity to help shape our initial thinking and position on Public Service Reform. As more detail emerges about the Scottish Government’s plans, there will be further opportunities for members to provide input.
