Created in partnership with Angus Health and Social Care Partnership
Over the past 12 months, Tommy Whitelaw, National Lead for Person Centred Voices at the ALLIANCE, has worked in close partnership with Angus Health and Social Care Partnership (AHSCP). Our collaboration has been a truly inspiring journey, one that has touched hearts, sparked change, and deepened our shared commitment to kindness in care.
Tommy’s message is one rooted in compassion and the power of personal stories and resonated deeply with AHSCP staff. It sparked meaningful conversations about kindness, compassion, and the vital importance of truly listening.
Through 65 events across 37 venues, we’ve connected with over 850 people, listening, learning, and celebrating what makes Angus a great place to live and AHSCP a special place to work.
This film captures how a simple question, “What matters to you?” can deepen relationships, build trust, and enhance the quality of care. It’s more than a reflection; it is a powerful reminder that small conversations can lead to meaningful change.
As you watch, we invite you to reflect on your own practice and your own conversations. When we ask “What matters to you?”, and truly listen, we begin to build relationships that honour the dignity, humanity, and uniqueness of every person.
Please share this film with others and help us continue the conversation.
“The trees are beautiful visual reminders of what matters to people and the power of listening. This is a fantastic example of partnership working between Angus Health and Social Care Partnership and the ALLIANCE, delivering personal outcomes for both those who use services and the staff who provide them. The embedding of improvements through the work of Ambassadors is truly impressive.”
