The Digital Citizen Panel is pleased to share the first member spotlight, highlighting member Pasna Sallis and her work with older adults
Weekday Wow Factor/DCP member Pasna Sallis tells her story to get ‘ageing well’ online and beyond.
“Weekday Wow Factor has always been famous for Daytime Discos for older adults. When COVID hit, the demand for fun, engaging activities that bring people together, only increased.
Dispelling the myth that older adults can’t be tech savvy we created a vibrant online community, meeting daily and getting active, creative, and learning.
Five years on and Zoom Discos, Zoom Tai Chi and Zoom Magic Shows (yes, magic really does work online!), are a popular and staple part of our programme. To book contact: admin@weekdaywowfactor.com
Following the success of our monthly Zoom Discos for Carers UK, they have invited us to get their online conference in April 2025 boogeying too!
Latest research indicates that loneliness can be as damaging to health as smoking, and up to 42 percent of long-term health conditions can be prevented or limited by lifestyle changes such as staying active, staying connected and managing stress.
Our online delivery partners are an invaluable part of our community building, tackling long-term conditions and keeping all our members, no matter their mobility, moving, chatting and engaged in our community.”
