Join Tommy Whitelaw for a workshop reflecting on his experience for caring for his mum and the importance of asking 'What matters to you?'.
Join National Lead Tommy Whitelaw at 46 talks in Partnership with Connect South Ayrshire for a packed few weeks across South Ayrshire from 15 to 29 May with talks and conversations happening right across communities, hospitals, and online spaces.
These free 1.5‑hour workshops are led by Tommy Whitelaw, National Lead for Person‑Centred Voices at the Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (the ALLIANCE). Tommy will reflect on his experience of caring for his mum, Joan, who lived with dementia, and how that journey shaped his deep commitment to listening, understanding, intelligent kindness, and improving how we support one another.
What the sessions offer
- Time and space to consider what genuinely matters to you
- A supportive environment to share experiences and insights
- Meaningful, community‑focused conversation
- Light refreshments and opportunities for connection (for in‑person sessions)
- Optional interactive activities to explore what matters in different ways
Session dates, times and locations
Sessions will run over a two‑week period in May, with venues across South Ayrshire, including hospital sites, community venues and town halls.
