The Scottish Government is looking for participants to join focus groups to discuss views on cardiovascular disease.
The ALLIANCE is supporting Scottish Government to improve future public health communications around cardiovascular disease (CVD), thinking about which words and communication styles are most effective in raising awareness and understanding of the various risk factors for disease.
Scottish Government will be hosting two online focus groups to discuss your views on cardiovascular disease. For these focus groups, we are looking to speak with individuals who do not currently have a diagnosis of a cardiovascular disease, and have no specialist knowledge in this area.
Each focus group has different criteria for joining, see below for more information.
Monday 24th February, 3-4pm, Online (Teams)
This focus group is for individuals who don’t believe they are at risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD)/heart and circulatory conditions due to lifestyle or hereditary factors.
Wednesday 26th February, 11am-12pm, Online (Teams)
This focus group is for individuals who do believe they could be at risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD)/heart and circulatory conditions due to lifestyle or hereditary factors (for example if you smoke, have an unbalanced diet or have family history of CVD).
We also welcome members of communities typically at higher risk of CVD. Some communities can be at higher risk due to a combination of genetic, lifestyle, socioeconomic, and cultural factors, and these include (but are not limited to) South Asian communities, women, or people living with socioeconomic deprivation, or those experiencing digital exclusion.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide translators at this event for non-English speaking participants.
