ICIC26 brings together global experts and people with lived experience to explore how integrated care can better serve diverse communities.
The 26th International Conference on Integrated Care (ICIC26) will take place in Birmingham, UK, from 13 to 15 April 2026. More than 1,500 experts, practitioners, policymakers, researchers, community leaders and people with lived experience will come together to explore how integrated care can improve health and wellbeing through greater diversity, inclusion and collaboration.
Hosted by the International Foundation for Integrated Care (IFIC), in partnership with the University of Birmingham and other key UK and international stakeholders, ICIC26 will highlight the latest research, innovations and practical examples of integrated care in action.
Integrated Care for All: Promoting Health and Wellbeing Through Diversity This year’s theme reflects the need for integrated care systems to better reflect the populations they serve. The programme will explore how care can be more person-centred, inclusive, and grounded in community strengths.
Key themes include:
· Improved Outcomes through Community-Based Care
· Enhanced Value through Prevention and Technology
· Reduced Inequalities through Social and Economic Development
· Strengthened Workforce through Capacity, Skills and Inclusivity
Professor Robin Miller, conference co-host and Professor of Collaborative Learning at the University of Birmingham, said: “We’re delighted to welcome the world to Birmingham for ICIC26. It’s a vital moment for the UK and for this region in particular, where we’re working hard to bring services together around people’s needs. Hosting ICIC26 offers an opportunity to showcase local innovation, learn from international peers, and take bold steps forward together.”
Why attend ICIC26? This is a key moment for anyone working to improve how services join up around people. From health and social care to housing, education, policy and community development, ICIC26 offers real-world insights, cross-sector collaboration, and access to a global network of peers who are working toward better, fairer systems of care.
A Global Platform for Shared Learning Dr Niamh Lennox-Chhugani, Chief Executive of IFIC, said: “IFIC is proud to be the global home for integrated care learning. Our conferences connect people and ideas across borders, helping teams and systems learn from each other in real time. This kind of knowledge exchange helps build more sustainable, equitable and community-powered care systems.”
