Our in-person DigiFest2024 event will take place on Tuesday 29 October, 9am-5pm at the Radisson Blu, Glasgow

Patty O’Callaghan, Technical Director at Charles River Laboratories, Google Developer Advisory Board member, Ambassador for Google’s Women Techmakers
Patty O’Callaghan, originally from Venezuela and now living in Scotland, has over 20 years of experience in the tech industry with a strong background in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. She currently holds the position of Technical Director at Charles River Laboratories.
Patty is an appointed member of the Google Developer Advisory Board, an Ambassador for Google’s Women Techmakers, and is recognized as a Google Developer Expert (GDE) in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
In addition to her professional role, Patty is deeply committed to advocating for public understanding of Artificial Intelligence and technology, its responsible use, and its impact on everyday life. As part of her advocacy, she regularly visits schools across Scotland to talk to students about the value of studying Computing Science. Patty also volunteers by running a code club at her local school, giving young learners hands-on experience with coding and AI. This work is especially important given the low uptake of Computing Science in Scotland compared to other STEM subjects, as well as the significant gender gap in the field.
Our Sharing, Influencing and Living in a Digital Scotland event is now at capacity. If you would like to join the waitlist, please contact dhcscot@alliance-scotland.org.uk
If you would like to join us remotely on the day, we are hosting a hybrid panel discussion and Q&A on the topic of ‘Good Practice in AI in Healthcare: The Rights and Wrongs’. Please contact dhscot@alliance-scotland.org.uk to register.
