Community health organisations are being invited to share their experiences of working with public health partners in a new consultation.
Scottish Communities for Health and Wellbeing (SCHW), Community Health Exchange (CHEX), Scottish Community Development Centre (SCDC), and Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (The ALLIANCE) have partnered to explore how relationships between the community health sector and public health have evolved over the past three years.
The survey, which takes just 5-10 minutes to complete, seeks to understand whether funding and partnership relationships between community-led health organisations and public health partners have changed since 2022. Public health partners include NHS Boards, Health Improvement Teams, primary care professionals, and Health and Social Care Partnership agencies.
If there is a clear pattern of shared experience across the community health sector, then we can use this information to explore what needs to change so that community health organisations can best deliver health improvement impact in their communities.
The consultation is open to any community or voluntary organisation that is currently funded by, or working in partnership with, public health partners. This includes organisations that may not traditionally identify themselves as community-led health organisations, as the holistic, preventative model of community-led health encompasses most community and many voluntary organisations.
Responses can be submitted anonymously, though organisations interested in participating in ongoing discussions about community health sector relationships are encouraged to provide contact details.
