Scottish Government launches public consultation on competencies for QToDs and QTVIs

Have your say on proposed changes to guidance on appropriate qualifications and teacher competencies.
The Scottish Government have launched a consultation on revising the guidance on appropriate qualifications and teacher competencies for teachers of children and young people who are Blind or Partially Sighted, Deaf, or Deafblind.
The proposed changes take into account developments in sensory impairment education, research and policy since the last publication in 2007. The overall aim of the consultation is to enhance attainment for children and young people with these specific learning needs.
Your views are essential to ensuring that the changes proposed are proportionate and well considered, so that the best teaching and support is provided for children and young people who are Blind or Partially Sighted, Deaf, or Deafblind.
All supporting documents required for taking part in the consultation are available on the Scottish Government’s website.
