Help future technology become more accessible

Shaheena Fakir, a visiting researcher to the University of Strathclyde from University of Waterloo, Canada, is exploring how people with Type 1 diabetes, with or without sight loss, use devices to monitor and manage their diabetes medicines.

This research can help future devices become more accessible, safe, and usable for people living with Type 1 diabetes and different sight needs.

To take part, you must be:

  • An adult aged 18 or over
  • Living with Type 1 diabetes and have any level of sight – from no sight loss to partial or full sight loss
  • Willing to share your experiences with the medicines and devices used to manage and monitor your diabetes.

Participation involves an online (Microsoft Teams) or a telephone interview which will last a maximum of 60 minutes.
