Learn about this new way NDCS are supporting families.

The National Deaf Children’s Society is delighted to introduce our new Community Connector roles across Scotland, designed to support families of deaf children and young people.

Community Connectors work across different regions to help families access the right information, local services, and opportunities, while also creating spaces to connect with other families who share similar experiences.

Who’s who:

Connectors are based across Scotland, each covering specific local authority areas to ensure support is accessible and locally relevant.

  • Lisa Sultana covers Lanarkshire, Glasgow and Ayrshire.
  • Natalie Hill covers Edinburgh, West Lothian, Midlothian, East Lothian, and the Scottish Borders.
  • Maryam Jamil covers East Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, and Argyll and Bute.
  • Morgan Deakin covers West and East Dunbartonshire, and Dumfries and Galloway.
  • Gemma Laird covers Fife, Dundee, Angus, Perth and Kinross, Stirling, Clackmannanshire, and Falkirk.

What support we offer:

  • Emotional and peer support for families
  • Opportunities to connect with other deaf children and families
  • Signposting to local services, activities and events
  • Working alongside professionals and local organisations to help build inclusive communities

Our approach is family-led – we work at your pace, focusing on what matters most to you.

Complete this contact form and your local community connector will get in touch to discuss support.
