Share your views and learn more about Scotland's Social Care Research Ethics Survey.
The Social Care Research Ethics Working Group and the Scottish Government are conducting a national survey to understand and enhance ethical review processes in adult social care and social work research across Scotland.
By gathering insights into current practices, challenges, and experiences within a variety of organisational contexts, the survey aims to “identify best practices, gaps, and opportunities for collaboration to ensure that ethical governance keeps pace with the unique challenges of social care research”. In particular, the survey is keen to hear from staff working across local authorities, Health and Social Care Partnerships (HSCPs), and research-active organisations in the third sector.
How to take part
To take part please complete the online survey here.
Alternatively, there are a range of options available to support you to take part and share your views. For further information, please find the participations options guide attached below.
Information Webinars
To provide more information on the surveys aims, staff working within local authorities, Health and Social Care Partnerships (HSCPs), and the third sector are invited to sign up to one of two online webinars to learn more about how they can contribute to a Scotland-wide survey of social care research ethics.
Taking place at 2-3pm on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 August, both sessions will be hosted by Irina McLean, Health & Social Care Coordinator within NHS Research Scotland’s Central Management Team (NRS-CMT) and Sasha Lewis-Jackson and Clare Halpenny of the Advanced Care Research Centre (ACRC) at University of Edinburgh.
The informative webinars will include:
- A short presentation introducing the project, why it matters, and why views are being sought
- Time for questions and discussion
- A final 15-minute slot for attendees to complete the survey — either during the session or in their own time if preferred
To register for a webinar session, please visit the NHS Research Scotland Website.
