Irene has been honoured for her work in healthcare and patient support.
We are delighted to announce that Irene Oldfather, Director of Strategic Partnerships, External Affairs and Outreach at the ALLIANCE, has been awarded an honorary degree from the University of Strathclyde.
The ceremony was held on June 25th at the University of Strathclyde and the honour was given in recognition of her immense contributions to healthcare and patient support both nationally and internationally.
Reflecting on this award, Irene said:
“I am humbled and honoured to receive this from the University of Strathclyde, my alma mater. The University played a pivotal role in supporting my career development, and I feel privileged to be given this mark of achievement.”
Of Irene and the other recipients recognised by the University, Strathclyde Principal and Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Jim McDonald said:
“We have great pleasure in welcoming to Strathclyde these exceptional and highly achieving people to receive their honorary degrees. Not only they have all reached high levels in their respective fields, but they have also made positive differences to society, in their professions and in campaigning to raise awareness of major issues. As a socially progressive university, we regard them as ideal examples for our students to follow, in their lives and their future careers.
Congratulations to Irene on this well-deserved recognition.
