The Scottish Government have launched their Stories of Impact during the 20 Year Anniversary of GIRFEC

As part of the Scottish Government’s engagement activity around the 20th anniversary of Getting it right for every child (GIRFEC), they have collected submissions from partners across local authorities and Health Boards for stories of impact which highlight effective GIRFEC implementation in both the context of supporting an individual child or family and in the context of local policies and programmes to meet the needs of groups of children, young people and families.

We are pleased to now share with you the first two stories of impact, alongside a message from the Minister for Children, Young People and the Promise. These stories of impact have been collated into the format of a flipbook, please use this link to read more.

These stories illustrate the positive impact GIRFEC has made to children and young people, and the excellent work practitioners are doing to implement GIRFEC across Scotland. Each story of impact has undergone a framing review with support from Each and Every Child to ensure that each story of impact is framed in a way which counters stigma and discrimination around care experience and family support.

We will update this resource with additional stories of impact regularly throughout the rest of the year. Please cascade this flipbook with relevant colleagues in your locality involved in the delivery of services and support to children, young people and their families.

If you have any questions or wish to submit a story of impact, please contact the Scottish Government Team by emailing girfec@gov.scot
