Summary of the NHS Recovery Plan: Third Sector Focus (with BSL)
Health Journalist, Pennie Taylor provides an overview of the NHS Recovery Plan: Third Sector Focus interviews. This video makes the case for greater collaboration from the NHS with third sector partners and reinforces the need for statuatory colleagues to listen to the voices of lived experience in order to successfully recover, remobilise and redesign our healthcare system.
Future of Social Care – Data and the National Care Service
As Scotland heads towards a new National Care Service, the ALLIANCE’s “Future of Social Care” series will be investigating some of the key issues at play. ALLIANCE Senior Policy Officer Dr Hannah Tweed interviews Public Health Scotland’s Lead on Integration and Primary Care Information, Peter Knight. They discuss why data matters, examples of where good use of data has led to improved service delivery, and why it’s important to get data gathering right.

Addressing childhood poverty and food insecurity in Scotland
Bill Scott, Chair of the Poverty & Inequality Commission, and Lindsay Graham, Deputy Chair of the Poverty & Inequality Commission, provide an overview of the children’s policy landscape in Scotland. Looking at Scottish Government efforts to address childhood poverty and food insecurity, the discussion addresses the particular challenges faced by disabled children and young people, those living with long term conditions, young carers, and their families, and the policy efforts that need to be put in place to address these.
Sleepio and Daylight apps being offered by NHS Scotland
Carmen Paputa-Dutu, the Digital Health and Care National Lead for the ALLIANCE, speaks to Professor Colin Espie, founder of Big Health and Professor of Sleep Medicine at the University of Oxford, about Sleepio and Daylight.
Sleepio (designed to support those suffering with insomnia) and Daylight (created to support those facing anxiety) are two apps that NHS Scotland will be offering free of charge for people in Scotland, making it the first country in the world to offer digital therapeutics for anxiety and insomnia nationally.

Remote monitoring technology
Through the QUEST project, scientists from the Universities of Glasgow and Lancaster are developing new systems that could allow for continuous checking of health. These videos explain the technology which allows for continuous, remote monitoring of activity and heart health. These new technologies could transform healthcare!
