Glasgow-based charity Spider Arts are launching a free arts therapy group for adults at The Hidden Gardens.

Community arts and wellbeing charity Spider Arts are launching free 8-week blocks of arts therapy for adults in Glasgow. The first session will take place on Tuesday 24 February at The Hidden Gardens from 2-4pm, the first of their spring block. Summer sessions will run from May to June and autumn sessions from August to September.

Creative arts therapies can support self management and these arts therapy sessions will explore story, myth, movement and art making in a safe and supportive environment, delivered by HCPC registered art and dramatherapists experienced in supporting groups on their journey to self-expression. Using a person centred approach, the therapists will facilitate an open and non-judgemental creative space for group members to focus on their wellbeing or work through challenges they may be facing.

Spider Arts were winners of the Self Management through the Arts category at the ALLIANCE’s Self Management Awards in 2023, for their Calmbulance project, and went on to host an art therapy event at House for an Art Lover as part of Self Management Week 2024. This new project will build on the success of that event.

Sign up for the sessions can be done via an online form, which can be found here: https://forms.gle/MvHhYMftgz9wnd1YA and further information can be found in the posters below.
