Edinburgh Deaf Festival is an accessible celebration of Deaf culture, language and heritage. Our aim is to bring the arts to Deaf audiences, giving Deaf people access to festivals in a way that they haven’t had before.

The festival gives mainstream audiences the opportunity to learn more about our rich Deaf culture whilst enjoying a variety of performances.

This year’s festival runs from the 7th – 16th of August.

Want to see a show but it isn’t accessible?

Did you know Deaf Action offers an Interpreter and Captioning Request Service? If you want to see a performance at any of the other Edinburgh festivals but it isn’t yet accessible, Deaf Action will aim to source an interpreter or captioner to make sure you can see the performance you want, when you want.

How it works:

  1. You find a performance you want to see
  2. Ask Deaf Action to request a communication professional
  3. We try to match the show with the right interpreter or captioner
  4. You go to the show and enjoy yourself!

Make sure to include the date and time of the performance(s) you want to see in your enquiry.
