The Scottish Sensory Hub welcome your feedback to help inform their response to Scottish Government consultation.

The Scottish Government have launched a public consultation on Legal Aid reform, and the Scottish Sensory Hub at the ALLIANCE are preparing a response.

We are aware that BSL users can face challenges when accessing Legal Aid. For example, the current system does not include sign language interpreting costs during the first meeting to assess whether people are eligible to receive Legal Aid. This can be a significant barrier to Deaf people receiving support.

If you have any suggestions for key messages to be included in our consultation response, please email your comments to sensory@alliance-scotland.org.uk by Friday 18 September 2026.

Your name or organisation will not be included in our response to the consultation unless you are happy for us to do so.

If you would prefer to give your feedback in a different format, please let us know.

End of page.
