Access the Helpline for BSL users or make an online appointment.

Dementia UK offers free online appointments for Deaf people who are living with dementia, or supporting someone living with dementia.

If you are a BSL user, there are two ways to access support from Dementia UK – contact the Helpline through a live BSL interpreter for advice and information, or book a dedicated online appointment with an Admiral Nurse and qualified BSL interpreter.

Contact the helpline through a BSL interpreter:

If you are a BSL user, you can contact our Helpline through live BSL video interpreter provided by Sign Solutions via InterpretersLive!.

This allows you to communicate directly with one of our specialist dementia nurses in a way that works best for you.

Book a BSL dementia appointment:

BSL dementia appointments provide dedicated time with an Admiral Nurse and qualified BSL interpreter.

Appointments are delivered online and can support people living with dementia, family members, carers and friends.

You can discuss:

  • Concerns about memory and dementia
  • Understanding a diagnosis
  • Coping with changes in behaviour
  • Caring for someone with dementia
  • Planning for the future
  • Accessing further support and services
