IFW is a flexible resource that can be used for self-directed learning and also for facilitated group learning in local services.
The Scottish Library and Information Council, the ALLIANCE and the Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre are delighted to advise that the Information for Wellbeing course (this link will take you away from our website) is now live and freely available for all library and third sector staff.
It is a key deliverable from the Collective Force for Health and Wellbeing Action Plan (this link will take you away from our website), which aims to develop libraries as key partners in health and wellbeing in their communities
Information for Wellbeing is a blended learning course featuring seven e-learning modules, listed below.
Module 1: Good conversations and empathy
Module 2: Communicating using remote technology
Module 3: Health literacy
Module 4: Providing quality assured health information
Module 5: Words for wellbeing
Module 6: Managing boundaries and difficult situations
Module 7: Enabling everyone to participate
It consolidates learning through inbuilt quizzes, and workbooks for self-reflection and discussion in facilitated group discussion. It supports personal, self-directed learning, and encourages networks of libraries and third sector staff to come together in facilitated learning sessions, using the workbook exercises to share experiences and explore collaboration.
