This event was held as part of the Integration in Action series with IFIC Scotland.
On 23rd January 2025, the Health and Social Care Alliance (the ALLIANCE), in partnership with the International Foundation for Integrated Care (IFIC) Scotland, hosted the third event in our Integration in Action series. These events bring together speakers from a diverse range of sectors and organisations to talk about how they are putting the ALLIANCE Health and Social Care Academy’s Five Ambitions for the Future of Health and Care into practice.
The event was attended by nearly 50 people, including professionals working in health and social care, representatives from Health and Social Care Partnerships and the third sector, policy makers and individuals with lived experience of accessing care and support.
Chaired by Professor Anne Hendry, Director of IFIC Scotland, we heard first from Dee Gildea of the Corra Foundation about the foundation’s participatory approach to community grant making, then from Viv Gration about how Dumfries and Galloway Health and Social Care Partnership is supporting its partners in the third sector through multi-year funding and rethinking its commissioning processes. We then heard from Olivia Lindsay about how Housing Options Scotland helps people to access housing that supports independence, and Margaret Starkie of Volunteer Scotland on investing in and promoting volunteering. Finally, Allan Faulds presented on the ALLIANCE’s work with Tax Justice Scotland to advocate for a more equitable tax system to fund public services and improve outcomes.
