The 2025 Global Forum will bring together over 500 global leaders to explore what person-led care truly looks like in practice.

This December, Scotland will host a major international gathering focused on one of the most urgent challenges of our time: how to create health and wellbeing through care that is person-centred, value-driven, and grounded in meaningful connection.

Co-hosted by the Scottish Government and Sprink, the 2025 Global Forum will bring together over 500 global leaders – clinicians, carers, policymakers, researchers, and people with lived experience—to explore what truly person-led health and care looks like in practice.

One of the Forum’s keynote speakers will be Tommy Whitelaw, ALLIANCE National Lead for Person Centred Voices, who will speak about the difference it makes when we listen to and understand each other, when we show kindness and compassion, and the importance of asking ‘What matters to you?’ to those around us.

The Forum’s key themes, prevention, personalisation, sustainability, and connection, reflect a growing global movement toward health and care systems that recognise people as active partners, not passive recipients.

This is more than just a conference. It’s a platform for action; bringing together perspectives from government, academia, civil society, and lived experience to share real-world solutions, build new collaborations, and shape the future of care.

Why attend?

Whether you work in health, social care, policy, research, or community development – or bring the essential perspective of lived experience – this Forum offers a unique opportunity to:

  • Share your voice on an international stage
  • Connect with global changemakers and innovators
  • Gain practical tools to support person-led, community-based care
  • Be part of shaping a system that works with, not just for, people

Dr Irene Oldfather, Director at the ALLIANCE, said: “It’s great to see Scotland leading on the Global Forum and is a demonstration of the innovative approaches taken here from initiatives like ‘Hospital at Home’ to putting people at the heart of their own health and wellbeing through Realistic Medicine and WMTY conversations. Professor Sir Graham Smith and our own Tommy Whitelaw will make for a powerful and engaging opening session. Count me in!”
