Healthcare Improvement Scotland are running an online stakeholder workshop to support the review process of these standards.

The current Food, Fluid and Nutritional Care standards (2014) and the Complex Nutritional Care standards (2015) are being considered for review by the Healthcare Improvement Scotland standards team.  This process will look at:

  • the current use of the standards
  • the evidence on which the standards are based
  • alignment with current policy and legislation.

To support the review process, they will be holding an online stakeholder workshop on 18 June 2025 09:30 – 12:00. Register for this workshop here.

The current standards will remain on the Healthcare Improvement Scotland website and will remain current until the initial review process has been completed. If a review of the standards is to go ahead, a scoping phase will be held to determine the population, settings and domains that the standards will cover. Definitions related to the standards will be determined during this later scoping phase.

They are also conducting a short stakeholder survey.  They welcome general comments on the current standards and areas for potential changes, along with any other comments you may have on the use, evidence base and alignment of the standards.
