Why you should find the soundtrack to your life
In this podcast Carer Voices Project Lead, Tommy Whitelaw talks with Andy Lowndes the Deputy Chair and ‘Music Detective’ with Playlist for Life. Playlist for Life is a personal music and dementia charity founded in 2013 by writer and broadcaster Sally Magnusson after the death of her mother, Mamie, who lived with dementia. In this podcast, you will hear about why Playlist for Life wants everyone living with dementia to have a unique, personal playlist and everyone who loves or cares for them to know how to use it.
Listen to their wide ranging conversation about music, playlists and the importance of exploring someone’s life story on

GIRFEC Members Networking Webinar
The GIRFEC “Training the Trainers” webinar aims to enable a broad range of practitioners from the third sector to deliver information workshops for children and young people or parents and carers to inform them about GIRFEC and what it means for them; to bring GIRFEC to life, to make it real for them. This is part of a series of GIRFEC webinars hosted by the ALLIANCE.
The workshop covered everything from organising an information session to the contents and materials (provided) to the continued support and guidance after the ‘training for trainers’ workshop concludes
Palliative care in the times of COVID-19 with Palliative Care Scotland
Across the world, hospitals are struggling to get the resources they need to care for people, from face masks to ventilators to ICU beds. But there’s another aspect of health care also in short supply: palliative care. In this podcast, Carer Voices Project Lead Tommy Whitelaw is joined by Mark Hazelwood, Chief Executive of Scottish Partnership for Palliative Care (SPPC) to discuss the importance of talking about death, dying well and bereavement as well as the role of palliative care during a pandemic.
