Find out more about how Self Management funded project have been supported in 2020,
2020 began with looking to the future and planning for the opening of the next Self Management Fund cycle to begin in June. Following the nationwide lockdown and significant disruption to all 62 live projects, work was redirected to support these projects to either revise their delivery or pause their work entirely. As it became clear that the delays and disruption would continue, likely into 2021, a bespoke round of funding was designed and implemented to offer these projects an extension to their funding term and additional grant if required. 53 applied and were successfully offered an extension in order to complete their planned project over a longer period of time or adapt their offer to address new or additional needs faced by people in the current climate. A report was produced in partnership with Evaluation Support Scotland summarising the impact of COVID-19 and lockdown on these projects and the people they work with and how they planned to adapt and respond: Self Management Fund: Third Sector Response to COVID-19 (November 2020).
In October 2020 we were able to launch the new cycle of the Self Management Fund and invite applications to the first round of the Resilience, Recovery and Development themed fund. Alongside our usual criteria supporting innovation and evidence gathering around self management in Scotland, we are particularly interested in projects that will contribute to the resilience, recovery and development of people, communities and the third sector through and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.
The next cycle of the fund, Self Management Fund: Resilience Recovery and Development closed in January 2021 for projects to begin on 1 June 2021.
