SLIC, the ALLIANCE, DHI, and the Scottish Government Self Management and Health Literacy team have released a draft action plan for review.
Harnessing the power of information for renewal and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC), the ALLIANCE, the Digital Health and Care Innovation Centre (DHI), and the Scottish Government Self Management and Health Literacy team have released their draft refresh action plan 2021-2023 for consultation.
The plan sets out how libraries in local authorities, schools and other sectors will work with partners in health and social care and the third sector to become central hubs for trusted health and wellbeing information in their communities. In this role they will act as key facilitators in helping people to emerge from COVID-19 as partners and leaders in their own health and wellbeing.
Your feedback is important to the shared priorities across these organisations set out in this plan. These include:
- Enabling people to use digital health information tools and services, building digital, information and health literacy, and maximising digital inclusion.
- Using information services to support mental health and wellbeing, including among young people and the elderly.
- Reaching and empowering groups at risk of exclusion from health and care services.
The draft plan sets out proposed activities for the next two years which can be delivered within existing resource. Feedback is requested particularly on the following:
- Vision, Focus and Objectives (sections 1-3 respectively)
- Outcomes and Impact (section 7)
- Potential for your organisation to collaborate with library services to support shared aims outlined in this action plan.
- Your thoughts on priorities for development beyond the two year mark
The draft action plan is attached below. Please submit your feedback by Monday 23rd August to ann.wales@dhi-scotland.com (this link will take you away from our website). This timescale will enable the action plan to be finalised and for initial delivery in the autumn of this year. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Ann if you would like more information on any of the points in this draft plan. Your time to review and respond to the proposed plan is appreciated.
