North East Sensory Services have launched their Sensory Awareness training.
North East Sensory Services (NESS) is the leading provider of fully integrated joint sensory services in Scotland. To replace face-to-face training in light of the pandemic, NESS have created online Sensory Awareness training, which raises awareness of the practical and emotional impact of sensory loss, that is, sight and/or hearing loss, including Deafness. The training also introduces some of the ways in which people living with a sight and/or hearing loss might maintain their independence, and explores some simple ways that we can all help to be supportive and inclusive of people with a sensory loss.
The training takes place in two parts. The first part is an e-learning module, which presents a range of information about sensory loss on NESS’s training website. This is followed up by a video conference meeting within a small group of participants to discuss some of the practical and emotional impacts of sight and/or hearing loss, share personal and/or professional experiences of sensory loss, and address any questions participants may have.
For more information about the training, including a link to the booking form, visit the NESS website (this link will take you away from our website). Please contact NESS directly by phoning 0345 271 2345, SMS: 07593 102004 or emailing directly on libby.hillhouse@nesensoryservices.org (this link will take you away from our website).
