National Care Service: co-design panel applications open

The Scottish Government is inviting individuals and organisations to co-design the National Care Service.
The Scottish Government is inviting people to apply to join “Lived Experience Expert Panels” to help shape the National Care Service (NCS).
The NCS intends to set national standards and guidance to support the local design and delivery of community healthcare and social work services, in a way which best meets the needs of those who use them.
It is vitally important that the NCS is designed with those who use and work across health and social care and the complexities of getting this right should not be understated.
Adults over the age of 18 can apply here (this link will take you away from our website) to join the Lived Experience Experts Panel (LEEP) which will bring together people from across the country to share their views on how the new NCS can best meet the needs of those it will serve.
Stakeholder organisations can also add their voices by applying to join the Stakeholder Register.
Over the next few years the design work will consider a number of themes, the first of which are:
- Information sharing to improve health and social care support
- Realising rights and recognising responsibilities
- Keeping health and social care support local
- Making sure my voice is heard
- Valuing the workforce
In the future, there will be additional ways for specific groups to get involved – for example children, young people and families, care experienced people, and young carers.
